Once Upon a Child has the cutest tutu's for $5.99. I think I now have one in every color. Just looking at them makes me want to do a photo shoot. Just look...

Bean is wearing the headband her grandmother made her for the baptism.

Parenting obstacles.

Monday, July 21, 2014

Parenting isn’t easy for anyone. Both parents, single, or even grandparents. Being a parental figure takes a lot of hard work and is full of obstacles. I wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if I’m doing it right. When I have to put Sprout in time out I hurts me more than it hurts him I’m sure. I’m not super woman, and I wish I was. I wish I could take the teething pain away from Bean. I wish I can take the pain away from my kiddos. So many obstacles, and there’s more such as:

1.       Potty Training… It sucked, and it will suck but no more diapers looks good to me.
2.       Time out’s…I give Sprout a warning before he goes to time out, and they usually are 4 minutes, unless he does something completely out of line and it doubles to 8.
3.       Teething… it’s a challenge any way you slice it.
4.       Temper Tantrums… Sprout no longer throws them, but Bean throws at least one every day. We almost expect a meltdown before lunch time every day when she’s due for a nap.
5.       Boo boo’s… I can’t prevent all of them, I wish I can take the pain away.
6.       Teaching Sprout the value of money, explaining that everything has a cost, and if he wants a toy, now he has to earn it doing chores and helping with Bean.

If you know a perfect parent, please lead me to them.

What are some parenting obstacles you deal with?

New parent, what not to buy.

Monday, July 14, 2014

You ever buy anything that you didn’t use? When you’re a new parent you want to make sure everything is all set before your little sprout comes. Where does all the stuff you don’t use go? In my case it’s donated to Goodwill or on the curbside where people can pick it up. I wanted to write this post because I wanted to tell you (in my honest opinion) the worse and useless things I got for baby. Maybe this will help you out!

1.       Changing pad for the top of the dresser
2.       Changing table (we usually use the add on which came with the playpen, or just do it on the bed.)
3.       Baby Swing, she hates it.
4.       Grass looking drying rack, falls apart easily. I just got a separate dish rack
5.       Newborn clothes, they grow so fast
6.       Burp clothes, just use a bib… most the time the spittle will be on your shirt though. Just a heads up!
7.       Shoes…
8.       Baby food maker, just use a blender.
9.       Sleep Positioner
10.   Bouncy Chair, she hates this as well.

I hope I was able to save you a couple dollars or HUNDREDS! This is just in my opinion. Every baby and every parent is different.

What are some things that you bought that were useless?
