Bias, Bodkin, Acrylic, Seam and Tracing Wheel

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Bias: This is the part of the fabric that is the most stretchiest. It runs diagonally.

Bodkin: You can use this instead of a safety pin when pulling through elastic or cording.

Acrylic: It's fabric made out of oil/ petroleum.

Seam: When two pieces of fabric are sewn together.

Tracing Wheel: It looks like a pizza cutter, but its more dull. It's used to transfer marking from the pattern to the fabric.

Make Your Own Tags, Just an idea

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

So I was looking on Amazon for hang tags for my crochet hats. I couldn't find anything that I wanted. I decided to make them myself:
I got everything I needed from Michaels, and everything was on sale!

The paper punch was $5.99, the string was $2.99, and the mini hole punch was $1.99

I already had the card stock paper hanging around here.

Not bad for doing it at home.

Book of the Week

Friday, February 1, 2013

Hey everyone! I wanted to start something new here. I love to read, and I wanted to share something along the lines of "Book of the week." This is where I share what I've been reading. I figure with a new baby on the way I start with this:

If it's a girl, the names I'm in love with are Annie, Isabella, and Alexandria. If it's a boy I'm thinking James or Noah!
